Inspiration comes to us in many guises. Our stores and St Barts own collections evolve as we travel, play, dream and create. Sometimes we start from a single item that inspires a romance of connections – last season a chair of rope and driftwood created echoes of creation and collaboration – a kind of “washed ashore” theme stayed in our imagination and hearts.
This summer we find ourselves in love with a certain quality of colour. It’s found under the dappled light of a wicker roof terrace, mid-afternoon, high summer. It is the faded terracotta of a baroque towns’ geranium pots, the sun blasted peach of desert dunes. It is found in the marbling of scrubby browns, sandy creams and crumbling ochres on ragged ocean cliffs.
The relationship between design and nature is never far and so this summer earthy tones and and sun-blushed hues emerge as our catalyst and muse.
Like children on a beach transfixed collecting shells, we gather and adore each item until our bucket is full and our stores are resplendent and our St Barts range is ready to launch. Of course the best part of collecting is the showing and telling and we can’t wait to share our journey with you!
