Inspired by a man I walked past on a street in the Medina of Marrakech. He was sitting exactly like that on a chair surrounded by these amazing handmade rugs, looking him with this poised look and behind him the pink blush hue walls… he had such a presence.

He threw his head back as he laughed and had such a big smile, I was thinking of how much he’d make an incredible picture to take a photo but didn’t and instead that little moment etched into my brain, a year later I painted him here.
